Jake (SNC): Coach Khail! Jake from SNC, do you have a moment to answer a few questions about the upcoming season?

Coach Khail: lol sure. I hope it’s about how I’m Bringing Troy U its first Natty.

Jake (SNC): The confidence is oozing off you, Coach. There’s something about you that I can’t explain… what would you say is the most important factor for you to deliver a National Championship to Troy?

Coach Khail: In the words of the great coach Eric Taylor, Clear Eyes, Full Hearts, Can’t lose! The competition want to win…… we NEED to win. When you focus on championship, the NEED to win far outplays the want to win.

Jake (SNC): So winning is the most important factor to winning? 4D chess there.

Jake (SNC): What do you think will be your biggest challenge at Troy and playing in the Sun Belt?

Coach Khail: Sorry about that! Storm stuff and what not. Where did we leave off? Oh yes! The biggest challenge we face is ourselves. Coastal and them other guys are too worried about rankings and uniforms and dumb stuff. We go to sleep pissing excellence, we wake up pissing excellence, and we win because winning is the most important thing in order to win.

Jake (SNC): Hope all is well Coach. Glad to see you are recruiting the Houston area. Should pay off for you in the long run. Long term, what is your vision for Troy and how do you bring long term success to your school?

Coach Khail: Simple. Legacy! Every player, coach, and faculty that we have will have the mentality that our greatest accomplishment is leaving everything we have on the field. There is no next year, there is no next time. It’s the here and now that will keep us focused on championships.

Jake (SNC): On the flip side of that, what do you think will be your biggest struggle year 1 and beyond?

Coach Khail: Getting the right people on the right seat of the bus. Call me Dion bc I’m bringing my Louis Vuitton bag! Transfer portal going loaded with Troy players bc we gotta get the right player and coaches. May not be liked the first year but I’m about dem rings. I gotta really big team and they need some really big rings!

Jake (SNC): Wow Coach. Seems like there isn’t much that will slow you down. Changing gears here, but what kind of NIL potential do you see with Troy supporters?

Coach Khail: Well we aren’t no Texas A&M if that’s what you are asking. I see some donors donating once they see my staff put the right stuff on the field. I mean if a player only wants to play for college money, they not worth my time. We will find the hustlers out there who want a chance to prove themselves. Tom Brady got drafted in the 7th round and has 7 rings. We looking for winners not Instagram influencers.

Jake (SNC): Is that out of wanting the right guy or the fact that Troy’s NIL collective pays minimum wage?

Coach Khail: Waffle House. Always a good way to recruit HS kids.
